Blaine Hughes, pastor of Forest Hills Presbyterian Church in Wilson, N.C., died on January 17 following a lengthy illness. He was 70.

He had served as pastor of Forest Hills since 2013, when he was commissioned by the Presbytery of the Mid-Atlantic as a Commissioned Pastor. A native of Fayette, Ala., he was an alumnus of Welch College in Nashville, Tenn.; Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va.; and Reformed Theological Seminary.

He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Edmundson Hughes; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Ralph Robbins of Wilson; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Michaellynn Hughes of Wilson; daughter and son-in-law, Amory and Brian O’Neal of Sims, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law Ashley and Jarrod Milton of Wilson; seven grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Ricky Carter of Norfolk, Va.; and brother and sister-in-law, Duane and Lynn Hughes of Winfield, Ala.

The family requests memorials be sent to Forest Hills Presbyterian Church, 1100 Forest Hills Road NW, Wilson, N.C. 27896.
