Hope Church (EPC) of San Antonio, Texas celebrated the completion of their new building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sunday, September 9. According to Pastor Tom Masterson the special event was a celebration and a great opportunity. “It’s the number of unchurched people in attendance that mattered most, “ Tom said, “Their presence was a wonderful excuse to share the Gospel.”
A church plant, Hope EPC held its first organizational meeting on April 1, 1999 and launched on April 16, 2000. The congregation met in a dance hall for two years and a school “cafetorium” for ten. Reflecting on the process that brought the congregation to September 9, Tom felt “the satisfaction of seeing a small part of God’s kingdom come here on earth, as the building represents a tangible milestone for the church and God’s kingdom.” For more information about Hope-San Antonio, go to their website at www.hopeisreal.org.
