Attend the 2013 General Assembly

The 33rd General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church will be held at Cherry Hills Community Church, Highlands Ranch, CO. It begins with a Chaplains Workshop and World Outreach gathering on June 18, followed by the Assembly Workshop on June 19 with Lee Strobel and Mark Mittelberg.  Business sessions convene Thursday morning June 20 and conclude on Saturday, June 22 around noon.

Why attend the General Assembly?  It’s much more than a business meeting.  See the video of what people said about the 2012 General Assembly.

Meeting the following three step schedule is critical for a smooth and effective sign up of those representatives from your church who will participate at this Assembly.

March: Election and Certification of Commissioners

Step One: Election of Commissioners – this should be completed at a March meeting of your Session.

Step Two: Certification of Commissioners – please report those Ruling and Teaching Elder who have been elected Commissioners (both first and last name) using the Commissioner Certification Form (see below). This form must to be certified with the Clerk of Session’s signature and forwarded as soon as possible by fax (734-742-2033) or e-mail (epchurch@epc.org). This completed form is necessary for ensuring your Commissioners are given voting status. It is this “certification step” that is too frequently forgotten in this process.

April: Registration

Step Three: Registration of Commissioners, which begins in April. Commissioners are able to register online and pay for fees, meals and any other scheduled events via credit card. Commissioners should check the 2013 General Assembly web page from time to time for informational updates. Hotel and ground transportation information will be posted and updated there. A registration-by-mail option will be available for those who require it. Registration brochures are scheduled to be mailed in late March. Please ensure your certified Commissioners are registered by May 31, as on June 1 all costs registration costs increase significantly!

May: Memorials

Each year the General Assembly remembers and honors those Ruling Elders and Ministers who have died during the previous Assembly year (June-June). The Committee on Memorials and Appreciation welcomes the responsibility of bringing this information to the Assembly. Please refer to the memorial letter and form mailed separately.

God bless you! We’re looking forward to a great meeting at this year’s General Assembly!
