Re:New – A weekend for EPC Ministry Wives October 27-30, 2011

Why have such a weekend?

While rarely in the spotlight, the wife of a ministry leader plays a significant role in the effectiveness of her spouse.  Her support and encouragement of her husband, the depth of her relationship with Jesus and her commitment to both family and congregation all have an impact on the quality of ministry in a church. This includes the wives of our pastors, youth and worship directors and other ministry leaders.

Keynote speaker for the weekend will be author and ministry wife Geri Scazzero.  Geri’s books include Emotionally Healthy Spirituality (Nelson, 2006) and I Quit (Zondervan, 2010).  She is married to Pastor Pete Scazzero of New Life Fellowship Church in Elmhurst, New York, where she serves as New Life’s Director of Marriage Ministry.  Geri speaks and writes out of a deep desire to see ministry wives thriving as they support and encourage their husbands as well as ministering effectively where God has placed them. She addresses the struggles they face as a pastor and wife striving to minister well and be spiritually and emotionally healthy. Their ministry work is a testimony to how the Lord redeems those struggles. Geri will be a great encouragement to the wives who attend this conference.

Throughout the weekend, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with other women in similar churches and positions, experience special care and attention and have ample “down” time to enjoy the area around Glen Eyrie and Colorado Springs.
