On Sunday, July 17, 2011, Stated Clerk Jeff Jeremiah presented to the congregation of
Tunica Presbyterian Church, Tunica, Mississippi the 2011 Bartlett L. Hess Award. To celebrate the event, the congregation held a potluck after the 11 am worship service. The slideshow presentation shown at our June 2011 General Assembly meeting held at Hope Presbyterian Church in Cordova, Tennessee was run for Tunica congregation’s enjoyment. Pastor Paul Husband received the award on behalf of the church.

The award is named after Dr. Bartlett L. Hess, one of the founding fathers of the EPC who served as the pastor of Ward EPC in Northville, Michigan for 36 years. His ministry was characterized by his pastor’s heart, servant leadership, and a passion for the gospel, the church and the lost. The award recognizes those churches that pursue innovative and effective approaches to outreach, church growth and church revitalization.
