World Outreach Director Called

The Committee on Administration (COA) approved the recommendation of the World Outreach Director Search Committee to call Phil Linton to succeed George Carey as Director of World Outreach.

George Carey said, “I admire Phil and his wife Janet for their years of faithful mission service and expect that he will be able to take World Outreach forward to a new day of hallelujahs and PTL’s.”

When notified of the COA’s action, Phil said, “George Carey and his team have prepared World Outreach for great fruitfulness in the coming years. I’m excited about what comes next.”

Phil will begin as World Outreach Director-elect on June 1, 2014 and  will overlap with George as he finishes his term through December 31, 2014. This will ensure a smooth and effective transition between the two directors. Subsequent to George’s retirement, a World Outreach Associate Director will be called.

Phil is currently the Minister of Outreach and Missions at Ward EPC, Northville, MI. A position he has held since 1998. Before that he served as a missionary in France, Jordan and Morocco for Mission to the World (PCA). As a missionary, he held leadership positions in Arab World Mission. Phil and his wife Janet live in Northville, MI. They have been married for 35 years and have four grown children.

Members of the World Outreach Director Search Committee were Diane Thrash, David Adamson, Jeff Chadwick, Don Elliott, Jeff Jeremiah, Scott Larson, Ed McCallum and Dick Oestreicher.
